Cecilia
Prologue
Hello, my name is Cecilia. I am an Elf girl, raised in Ephonia. I’m 15 years old and living by myself. My parents were killed in a brutal village slaughter when I was 9. I’ve never trusted anyone after that except my best friend Cleo, a half human half dog demon girl. She lives on her own in the tree next to me. Yes, our houses are in trees. You see the trees had a hollow inside and door shaped hole up front. I have long brown hair down to my waist, l have dark purple eyes, and my ears have long bead earrings. Me and Cleo live far far away into the forest of Calatie. We have been living together since we were 11 years old. That’s 4 years of pure friendship. So, This is my story, and I am glad to meet you my new friend!
Chapter 1
I walked out the door of my tree into the blinding sun. Cleo walked up beside me her hand now on my shoulder. “If that sun just moved west a little bit the trees would block it. But the sun is right in the gap of all of the trees.” I said covering my eyes from the sun. Cleo laughed, “Yea.” Cleo stared at my face. I looked into her eyes, “What?”
“Nothing, I was just thinking of how we met.” She smiled.
“Oh, yea, I remember that.” Then I remembered I should be hunting right now. “Oh my gosh! Cleo we should be hunting and gathering!”
“Oh yea! I forgot!” I ran over to my tree searching for my things. I grabbed my hand-made wooden arrows, hand-made dagger, and a wooden bow I found yesterday. I walked out and saw Cleo with her hand-woven basket tied around her waist. “Good luck.” She waved at me. I smiled, “You too!” I walked into the deep green forest smiling, enjoying the view. Then I heard a low growl. “Timber wolves.” I whispered to myself. Then they jumped out attacking from every angle!
Chapter 2
I grabbed the dagger stabbing every wolf that flew in front of my face, fighting to live. More came and bounded at me clawing, tearing, and biting. My dress was torn to what looked like a belly shirt and a really short skirt. I was bleeding everywhere. I finally stabbed the very last wolf in the head. I looked around me at all of the bleeding dead bodies. Then I looked up, and on a rock there he was. The leader, He was midnight black and had a scar across his left eye. He was about 23 yards away. I took out my bow and an arrow never taking my eyes of him. He growled, making my step back. Mistake. I tripped over a dead wolf’s body, sprawling back. The leader seemed to smile an evil smirk when I hit the ground. He bounded down after me, fast as a bullet! I screamed bloody murder. The leaders’ jaws snapped down on my arm. I screamed so loud it seemed that it could be heard anywhere!!!! Blood ran down my arm and off my trembling finger tips. The wolf still seemed to be grinning. Suddenly a man appeared on top of the rock the wolf was on. He took out his sword stabbing the wolf in the back, the leader died instantly. I looked at him trembling. My arm still bleeding. The man leaned down and ripped part of his sleeve off, wrapping it around my wound. I looked into his eyes. “My name is Ethan.” I giggled. Then blushed when he flashed his beautiful smile at me. “I’m Cecilia.” Then my hair fell off my ears, uncovering them. Ethan stepped back, almost falling, “Your an..Elf!” Then he smirk. “I believe Elfs are sold for gold.” He grabbed my hand, dragging me. I screamed louder than before. He grasped my mouth, I couldn’t make a noise.
After a long time of fighting, pulling, and dragging a village came into view. A sign said “Welcome to Cecondo!” I for sure didn’t feel welcomed. We were soon brought into a shop. “Ah. Such a pretty creature!” This big strong ugly man said, “What is she? Hmm?” Ethan smirked. Then looked at me. “An Elf,” he said yanking my hair back showing my pointed ears. The man smiled evilly. Then he yanked me away from Ethan by my hand, then dropping what looked like 69 pieces of gold coins. Ethan smiled greedily then saying, “Thank you my good man!” Then he left. The big scary guy, who I will now call B.S.G ,took me by my hair into a back room. In there were cages full of many things, elves, pixies, fairies, half-demons, demons, and wizards. B.S.G threw my rudely into a cage with a pixie. I turned around to see her. She had long blue hair, sea green eyes, and a short green dress on. I knew right away that she was a water pixie. She was a little taller than me and looked my age. She had a necklace that said “Melanie.” Suddenly B.S.G came back in with a notebook. “What’s your name girl?” I looked at him shyly. “Cecilia. That’s C, E, C, I, L, I, A.” He wrote down what I said then left. Then I heard the door bell ring, which meant someone was coming in. I heard B.S.G say something I couldn’t understand. Then a cute little girl came in with as older woman, most likely her mother. They looked at all of us. “I want that one mommy!” the little girl said pointing at a fairy who looked about 19. She had long brown hair, rainbow wings, blue eyes, and a long pink dress on. B.S.G took her out and the mother gave him money. The fairy had a necklace that said “Felicity.” They took her away then left. Then B.S.G came back in again and handed me a necklace. It said, “Cecilia,” I put it on obeying. Then he left. I looked at Melanie, “What is this place?” Melanie looked at me surprised. “It’s a creature shop. We are sold to people here as pets.” She said looking at her feet. Then I laughed. Everyone then looked at me. “Look at me. Who would want to buy me? I was just in a fight with 19 wolves! I look horrible!”
“Cecilia. They are going to clean you up. None of us were wearing these clothes when we got here.”
“You weren’t?” Melanie shook her head no. “This girl will come in. It’s the shop owners wife. She will pamper you up. She is really nice. You’ll go shopping for clothes with her too.”
“When do you think she’ll come?”
“Any second now. She only lives upstairs.” I looked out the cage. I was an animal. People are cruel.
Chapter 3
I heard something coming down the stair above us. I looked at Melanie for help. She nodded. It was the lady, it had to be. Suddenly a very pretty young girl came into view. “Were is the little darling?” B.S.G looked at her, then pointed at me. “Ah.” she said walking over to me. She unlocked the cage and brought me out. “My name is Janice, um,” she looked down at my necklace, “Cecilia.” I nodded. She took my hand and brought me upstairs. She filled this tub that looked like a hot spring up and told me to take a bath. I undressed and stepped into the hot steaming water. It felt great. I sank down sitting in the seat, and the water was right in armpit length. Janice knocked on the door. “Come in,” I said with my eyes closed. I loved the water. “It’s me Janice.” She said. I opened my eyes. She was in the door way holding some soap. “Wash up good OK? We’re going to go shopping for an outfit after this.” I nodded in approval. She gave me the two jars and a bar of soap. “The bar is for washing your body. The purple jar is for your hair. The purple jar goes on your hair first. Then this blue jar here. Don’t forget to rinse too.” She nodded leaving the jars and the bar there. I smiled when she left. She was really nice. I washed myself like her instructions told be too. The water had minerals that seemed to close my scratches that were bleeding. I got out and I was lost. I was naked, but I was done. What was I supposed to do now? Then there was another knock. “Janice?” I said worried. Then a girl answered, “No dear. I’m the maid. Are you all done?”
“Yes. What am I supposed to do now?” I heard a giggle. Then she answered, “I have a towel for you. May I come in?”
“Are you a lady?” I asked. I didn’t want a man here. I heard another giggle. “Yes, dear I am.” I smiled greatly. “OK. Come on in.” A beautiful lady entered. She had long brown hair to her knees, green eyes, and a white robed gown on. She held a white cloth in her hands. “Here my lady.” She wrapped the cloth around me. I felt dry and warm. Then she handed me a robe like hers. “When your done drying please dress in that.” I nodded, taking the cloth off. I dressed in the robe. It had long sleeves to cover my scratches and cuts on my arms and it went down to my ankles to cover the wounds on my legs. “Done.” I announced. She turned around looking at me. “Oh, OK. Come with me.” She said turning away going down the hall. I followed. She brought me to a room were Janice was. She left right away. “Ready?” I nodded. She took my hand gently leading me down the hall to the door. She opened the door and the sun filled in. I was going outside!
Chapter 4
We walked for a while looking for the perfect shop. We walked into a store that said “Fantasy Outfits” on the window. “Fantasy? What?” Janice looked at me, then smiled. “Oh, well here fantasy is Elf’s, dwarves, pixies, and fairies. I know it may sound like an insult that you are considered ‘Fantasy’ ,but it’s just what we think. I’m sure these clothes will make you feel more at home too.” I shrugged. I don’t care how they make fun of me. We walked in, and went to the Elf section. I saw many clothing items I loved. I adored them all. I picked out a short dress. It was sea green and went down to only mid-thigh. It had a medallion just above my chest. Janice said she would pick out clothes later for the person who adopts me. She walked me back, and locked me up. “She is such a faker.” I whispered to my self when she went back up stairs. Then I looked back into the cage. Something was missing. Melanie was gone!
Chapter 5
I looked at all of the creatures in their cages. I was scared, I lost my first friend here in a mere day! “Hey! Guys! Were is Melanie!” I screamed. Then I shouted bloody murder, “WERE IS SHE!!!!!” Everyone looked at my panicked. Then a little girl who only looked 4 years old. She had little cat ears on the top of her head. “Excuse me, I’m Kisa. Melanie was adopted.” She said. looked at her, and around the room. Then said worried, “To who.” Kisa looked at me then shrugged. Then a girl who looked 17 said, “Not to a good cause. She was sold to a man. About uh, maybe 34. She will most likely be used.”
“Used?” I repeated, my words shaking like my fear. The girl nodded. “By the way,” she said, “I’m Joyce. My race is half human, half fox. Or a Neko.” I nodded worriedly. I didn’t care about that! “OK. Well I’m Cecilia. An Elf girl scared that Melanie is going to die!!” I was over reacting now. Then the door to the shop opened. I heard the cute chime of the bell. “Hello! Welcome! Right this way!” I heard B.S.G say, I couldn’t see him though. Then B.S.G and a man about 23 came in. “Look, and buy anything you’d like,” B.S.G smiled, “Um, Sir?” The man stopped looking then said, “My name is Zamsen. Mr. Zamsen.” B.S.G nodded accepting Mr. Zamsen. “Uh, may I ask what your buying a creature for?” Mr. Zamsen shot a glare at B.S.G, then said, “That’s terribly rude for you to ask, but my daughters want a pet.” B.S.G looked shocked, then nodded. “I leave you alone to talk to them then.” B.S.G left. I looked at Mr. Zamsen. “Well, actually my name is Jonathan. So please call me that. My daughter, who is 12, her name is Destiny, and my other daughter, who is 14, her name is Sophie.” Everyone never took their eyes off of him. I could tell they were scared. I wasn’t, I wasn’t going to give into stupid fear. Then Jonathan came down to me. “Hello,” He looked at my necklace, “Cecilia.” I didn’t say anything. I promised I wouldn’t give into fear, but I was scared now. “What’s wrong? Can you talk?” I stared for a moment then nodded. Jonathan laughed, “Well, why aren’t you talking then?” I looked into his eyes. He seemed friendly enough. “I don’t know,” I said shrugging, “What’s to say?” He laughed again. “You do make sense.” B.S.G came in then. “Are you done? Have you decided?” Jonathan nodded pointing at me, “My daughters would love her.” B.S.G came over and let me out. Jonathan took my hand leading out. We walked until we came to a shop that said, “Pampering For Pets” After a while, we came out and I had a leash tied around my waist, a bow in my hair in the back as a French braid, a new outfit, a hot pink halter top dress that went down to my knees, and flowed around when I spin at the bottom, my earrings were now gone, my hair was now blonde, and my eyes were ocean blue. “Ready?” Jonathan asked. I nodded, “Sure, let’s go John. I’m ready.,” I blew a piece of hair out of my face. We walked to the road and John called a cab. We both got in and were on our way.
Chapter 6
The cab ride was horrible. The driver smelled like burnt tomatoes. As soon as we got to John’s house, it was all worth it. The house was a mansion! When I walked in john told me to go look around. He’d show me my room later. I looked around until I came to a room with a piano. A girl about 12 was playing it. I remembered John said his 12 year old daughter was Destiny. I looked in shyly, then she glanced up and saw me. She stopped playing and shot up staring me down. I flinched, stepping back. Destiny had long brown hair to her waist with a bow on the top of her head, she had brown eyes, and wore a green dress that went down to her knees. “What are you?” She asked. I looked at her and said, “Your father bought me.” Destiny looked at me then smiled. “You’re my new pet!” She ran up and hugged me. “God, Father did a horrible job, does he not know you are half human! Not a dog! Please, come, I’m sure you’d fit my mother’s clothes.” We walked down a long hallway in a white room full of beautiful lace! Destiny walked in a closet and rummaged around for a bit. “Here!” She smiled.
